Tensile Testing is a fundamental materials science and engineering test in which a sample of raw material or product(s) is subjected to a controlled tension until failure to determine strength. These tests are performed to determine the working load limit (WLL), proof load (PL), and breaking strength (BL). Tests can also be performed on wire rope and chain sling assemblies to determine the combined strength of the assembly.
